Now is a great time to talk to students about their goals! With New Year’s Resolutions needing a quick progress check and the end of the semester around the corner, students are in a unique time of the year where they can reflect on what is working for them and what parts of their plan may need adjustment to meet their goals. It’s a good idea to ask questions like – “What do you think you’ll do differently to maximize your potential next semester?” or “How is what you’re learning now going to affect you in high school?” – that give adolescents hope for the future they can create for themselves.
